Miranda and holly’s trip to golant

Holly and I decided to visit the little hamlet of Golant situated on the Fowey river. The hamlet was beautiful and the sunny day just added to it. We managed to visit the local parish church even though it was shut. We looked around the grounds and managed to capture some good shots.
We walked into the town a little more and found a railway line that was used to transport clay - the steam train that occupies this line is not in operation every year.
As the town is overlooking the river Fowey the tide can sometimes become high and flood the surrounding roads. This can become extremely dangerous in winter when bad weather strikes.
On the way back to the Youth Hostel we stopped into the only restaurant there was in the hamlet and asked a local resident if he could give us some more information about the town. He was happy to help me and i was pleased that i was able to get an interview. MC & HN
